We are on a low cARB DIET AND MY PARTNER EATS MORE CARBS THAN ME AND DRINKS MORE CARBS THAN ME YET HE IS STILL CARB BURNING ON THOSE KETOSTIX AND I HAVE STOPPED...WHY?

Difference between veg and salad in Atkins? I speak Dutch and don't understand what's the difference in english between salad ( sprouts, celery, mushrooms, lettuce...) and veg (aspargus, cabbage, snow peas, tomatoes...). Aren't the all just vegetables?

On that diet there are no calorie restrictions. If there is just

I wouldn't even attempt to defend the food pyramid.
It is becoming clear from reading your other comments that you love the Atkins diet and that it has almost religious significance for you. I am glad that you are so passionate about something. I will therefore stop arguing with you about it.
For everyone else, Atkins can work for short periods, but beyond a few months it can cause problems and hasn't proven to be very effective. Please don't take my word for it - go look for yourselves. You can even start with something simple like
