How do you work out a moment?

    A moment is a turning force.
    Moment is given in units of force * distance.

    If the force is perpendicular to the line joining the axis to the point where the force is applied, then moment is simply force * length of line.

    If the force makes an angle other than 90 degrees with the line, multiply the result by the sine of this angle.
