    If he is a leadoff hitter, then there is noone on base.
    No rbi's.

    • That's only true for the 1st inning, he can drive in runs in later innings when batters 7, 8 and 9 are on base.

    • The leadoff hitter, is no longer a leadoff hitter after the first inning, and then becomes the top of the batting order, or the number one (first) batter in the lineup. Any batter in an inning could possibly be the leadoff hitter in that inning.

    • The terminology "leadoff hitter" in baseball does not refer to who bats first in an inning, it refers to the first batter in the lineup to start the game. Even if the way you're looking at it was true, the player could still hit a homerun, giving him 1 RBI.
