(For visual artists) Do you think creating art is more important than a social life?

    No.

    Yes, every artist needs down time--you can set aside fifteen days a month that are just for your work. But social life is very important, too. For one thing, It'll help your work get out more, and get published, and, if you're selling it, even get bought. Not to mention people are just fun and they feed your soul. :D

    Just make sure you get friends who understand and support your mania. Other artists can be those kinds of friends.
