How do I avoid or get rid of shin splints?

I'm assuming you mean shin splints? Here's a link about them- http://www.rice.edu/~jenky/sports/shin.html

The only treatment is rest, don't be tempted to use fiery jack or deep heat or any of those. I've been there and it hurts!!
