I think it depends on which pill. There are lots of brands and strengths.
I was talking to a doctor, and she was telling me that with some kinds of hormonal contraceptives, the contraceptives themselves do not cause weight gain. The hormones make the women's moods change, so they eat more, and gain weight, which is attributed to the pill. I don't think this is true for all people/pills though.
The pill won't usually result in much weight gain though. Typically, you won't gain a zillion pounds by taking it. If you are concerned, talk to a doctor, and he/she could switch you to a different kind of pill where this is not an issue.
Are there side affects to taking birth control once a month just to stop your period?

You're reading So girls does the pill really make you gain weight? or does it just give you insane cravings, for the worst kinds of food, that wont go away until you eat the things you crave?
