Actually 2 countries (US and Canada) have Major League Baseball teams, and individual participants include players from the DR, Puerto Rico, Spain, Cuba, Mexico, Japan, Korea, China, Australia, Venezuela, among others.

Ok, 2 countries... Out of entire WORLD full of countries. Still doesn't make it a world Series.
Individual participants, playing for American and Canadian teams.. Why can't they play for teams in their own country? I mean, it really doesn't bother me THAT much. Baseball, like All American sports, is really dull. I'm just saying is all.

Since you have made your mind up I won't try to convince you, regarding the "boring" issue. Any country can field an MLB team provided they meet the requirements. Generally two teams must simultaneously be entered into one of the leagues in order to make sure each team plays the same number of games.

People think a sport or a game is "boring" when they don't understand it and don't want to take the trouble to do so.
