The full story of me being caned for not knowing this goes as follows. ( caning by the way is a sharp thwack with a bamboo cane across the palm of ones hand, they still believed in corporal punishment back then.

We were asked the collective noun for a group of foxes and after people had said den or coven or even pack the class went silent.

I asked how many foxes ?

The teacher replied five if its of any importance.

Two pairs of foxes and thier mate I chirped up with. Guess I was a smart ass even then. But its been bugging me for years that and now I know, ty.
