Typically once you have established residency in the state you can file in that state. Laws vary from state to state so you really need to get legal advice from an established authority in the state.
If money is a problem call the State Bar of Florida and ask if there are any attorneys who work on a sliding scale. You can also try legal aid and woman's organizations in your area. A man might seek assistance through a similar organization.
My divorce is delayed because the sherriffs office only documented that they served her something, not what they served her. how can the sherrifs office not know how to serve? and how can I get my money back?

My x signed divorce parents and we received final judgement in Feb. He now is claiming lawyer "forced" him to sign. I went pro se. Judge ruled temp order he only has to pay 1/2 of what was in the final judgement bc he provided the courts with bogus #'s?
