I imagine that sales have returned to pretty much normal. Lots of women who were seduced by the "burn your bra" rhetoric soon discovered that heavy breasts without support are uncomfortable and soon stretch out of shape.

Thanks Jim. Same as what I thought. I was afraid my whimsical question would go without an answer as it touches a raw nerve.
I have been thinking of starting a bra production unit. Rural women in India who don't wear bras, but use traditional cloth for tying their breasts close to their chests, being my primary target consumers.
Will they bite or rather, would they buy the improved support system which they have resisted for so long? Long before women in the west burnt their bras...

I am thinking of getting a 'women's self help group' involved in the project. It will be good income for the members of the group.
The rural women follow the traditional method only because it is cheap and serves them well when working in farm land mostly bending down all the time.
The rural bra must meet their needs. Just being fashionable won't do. So a fresh design is called for.
