Do you think we should abolish welfare and why?

    Well, I think there MUST be a system in place to take care of the truly poor and those physically incapable of tkaing care of themselves; but at the same time, I think there should be HARSH penalties for those who abuse the system and there should be a method of determining if the program is succussful in helping someone climb out of poverty...

    But to abolish it outright? no...

    • and their needs to be active monitoring of the individuals being helped. i.e. are they looking for work, are they playing bingo 5 nights a week at "the club" etc.
      their are housekeepers for example who are on welfare because of reduced hours, now here is the kicker, the reason their hours are reduced is because they make excuses not to work more then 1 or 2 days a week. just enough to say, look i'm trying to work, but not so much as to endanger their free ride
