Does anyone else believe that Lord of the Flies is an obvious microcosm reflecting world war II, or perhaps human nature in general?

    I think it is a dark exploration of the human psyche.

    I think that it focuses on mob mentality and what happens when there are no rules and said mob mentality is allowed to take over. It is trying to show one result of the breakdown of society and its laws.
