Kirlian Photography is a method of taking pictures of the electromagnetic auras around living beings. By placing an object on a photograpic plate, such as a hand or a leaf, once a charge was applied to the plate, it would leave a corona effect image on the plate.

The metaphysical explenation would be that this is a method of detecting the aura/astral body around a person. In doing this, and noting areas where the aura appeared to have unhealthy fluctuations, problems with the body causing these flucuations could be investigated and repaired.

Detractors from this explenation cite that the charge is reacting to moisture around the body, and creating a gas ionization that reacts magnectically to the film. Intensity and conductivity of the charge dictate what color the film captures.
