Thank you for your dedication to a mostly thankless service. Without people like you, well, I'd hate to think of the outcome. Honorable profession.

I don't hate cops, and I even have a couple of cousins on the force, but I don't trust the police, in general. They may be the first ones you call when you become a victim of a crime, but there's never a guarantee that the police can or will help or that they'll even care. My daughter was raped when she was about fifteen. As the police were ceremoniously ripping my house apart to obtain 'evidence' of the crime, they spoke to me and treated me as if I were some kind of criminal. They took many items from my home that day and I never did get back all of the so-called evidence they removed. Then, when the police finally got around to catching the guy, they refused to level ANY charges against him whatsoever because, they insisted, even though it was obvious that a rape had occurred and hospital ER processed a rape kit resulting in the retrieval of the rapist's DNA, it would still just be her word against the criminal's. Because of that callousness, lack of professionalism and obvious lack of concern, I'll never EVER be able to trust them to do the right thing, or do anything at all for that matter. Sure, I'll still call them if something happens, but only because my taxes help pay their salaries and because vigilante justice is illegal and because I'm left with no other choice.

You might not be a bad person but a large portion of cops are. Id say 1/3 of them at least.
I have never met a Cop who has done anything but speak to me in a condensing manner. They cite me speeding tickets but they dont investigate my theft claims even though I pay their salary.
I was a broke college student who might of been speeding the ONE time they are radaring...and they pull me over and ticket me and then when that same broke college student gets his MONEY stolen and he goes to the police station with ENOUGH INFO for the cops to know who the robber is (cause I know who they are)...they do NOTHING.
If I could get back at a cop somehow I would.
Any time I have ever seen a cop it has always been BAD its never good. They have never been anything but a BAD thing to show up for me in ANY situation.

I call BS on cops turning cops in. I was married to a cop. It didn't take long after he got his 'shield' that I left him. Cops in general cannot be trusted. My philosphy is: The only cops you can trult trust star on Law and Order. Even then you see them break or bend the law .. so yea. I've not met a cop yet that can be trusted or even deserves to be trusted. The only way to trust cops is to become one yourself, and that's just not worth it.

Update: A week ago, a drive-by shooting riddled a house two-doors down from us. 911 calls were made immediately by myself and several neighbors. The cops finally showed up...
45 minutes later. Great response time, guys. We wouldn't want you to miss your coffee break or anything. Yeah, you're the professionals we trust to protect us. Not.

"out of those almost 42 years, i can truly state that i have not been insulted , while in uniform"
Whatever someone's feelings about cops, they would be incredibly dumb to insult an officer to his/her face.

I do agree.. if i need help.. i hope the ambulance comes.. that's what 911 is for.. if someone is burglarizing my home.. i need swat probably.. what do i need ot get pulled over for doing 47 in a 45, spend 30 minutes waiting in my car with a fricking spotlight pointed at me, and treated like im on america's most wanted prison escape for?! seriously.. get rid of this retarded regulations on shit, let people be who they are.. if i want to relax at my crib, smoke too much, and pass out, who am i hurting.. if i die.. is ANYONE HERE going to notice?! might i add, noone has died from pot. btw. but, if i want to go to the liquor store and grab a 1.75 liter of booze, consume it all, drive trashed, 5 miles away to get more when i could walk up to a gas station and get more.... if it were legal.... lol.. who exactly is putting the keys in my hand?! and on the same note.. who benifits?
