If a healthy, average weight person doesn't eat for a week, how much weight could they expect to lose?

    Assuming that:
    your daily caloric needs are about 2000 calories and they stayed that way (i.e. your metabolism didn't slow down, you kept up your normal amount of activity)...

    You would loose approximately 4 pounds ([2000*7=14000] / 3500 = 4, since 3500 is the number of calories to loose a pound of fat).

    This is a very unhealthy way to loose weight, and as you can see, really doesn't help that much. With a healthy diet and exercise program you can loose about 1-2 pounds a week. While that seems like less, it will be easier to maintain. Starvation diets will just make you gain more weight in the long run.
