Help answer this question below.

If i was to write a letter, date and sign it saying that someone i know has not harmed me, and then go to the police a year or so later and contradict myself. If there was no other evidence or witnesses and the letter was shown, would it stand against me?

    Yes.

    It would tarnish your creditability as a victim/witness.

    A jury would have a hard time believing you and a defense attorny would have a field day with you on the witness stand.
