In baseball, what is the longest win streak by a team during the regular season?

    The 1916 Giants (then in New York) won 26 in a row, and the streak was interrupted by a 1-1 tie against Pittsburgh. This game didn't count in the final standings though. They won 12 in a row, then tied one, then won another 14 in a row.

    In 1935, the Cubs won 21 in a row and in 2002, the Oakland A's won twenty games straight, the longest streak since baseball went to a 162-game season.
