Question

Help answer this question below.

I am a new beekeeping in central Iowa. I installed 3 pounds in early May. They have 5 foundations drawn out, but I noticed a queen cell. If I have been feeding and there are larva, why would they make a new queen. Should I kill it?

Do you know how old the existing queen is? If she is getting on they may have decided a replacement is needed - do you have drone cells as well?
