You're reading Why would an atheist, unlike most "live and let live" non-believers, stridently plead with, then scream at, believers to wake up and clue in to his personal belief that God is a hoax?

Well said; thanks 4 calm tone. Good point on belief/non, too. Fellow in question is passionate on something, even absence. BTW, this was a sincere inquiry. Now I wish my interest had been absent. Live & learn,I guess. Thanks for your help.

Atheists "believe" that there is no God. They can't prove he's not there, therefor they can only believe based on what they see to be most realistic. You can deny it all you want, but it's still a belief system.

I would argue that I "don't believe" there is a god. That is an absence of belief and there's no system to it. I don't have "God's Not Real" rituals.

Even if it was a belief (as in strong atheism), you still need at least two beliefs to rub together to have a 'belief system'.
