Possibly but what incentive would debtors have to pay if nobody wrote to them or called them?
Anyway, they buy your debt for a lowish percentage from the original creditor so they are usually quids in!
I have a bill collector calling me. I was wondering if I could pay the original debtor instead of the collection agency. The caller said "No", I'm going to guess that it's a lie. Thank you.

Can a law firm (coll agency) collect on something that isn't on my cr reports? I was told that I have to prove that the cell phone debt isn't mine (from '01 or '02) and to file a police report by 30 days. This was removed from my cr rep yrs ago. Michigan.

You're reading Would collection agencies have more money if they didn't spend so much on postage stamps, and paying employees to call people?
