major brands have been selling for the last 6 or 8 years sets labled "HD Ready" they have the inputs for HD in componet, DVI and now in HDMI - sets built in the last 1-2 years have digital tuners but NOT all are HD some low end sets are labled SDTV - this is a set with a digital tuner but only shows 480I signals, what a waste of money.
And yes, componet inputs will handle a 1080I signal - IF THE SIGNAL IS IN 1080I format!!!

You're reading Me and my friend have this bet going on and even tho i proved to him that he is wrong, he still says component is not hd, even tho it supports 1080i and i work at an electronics store, so can anyone back me up here and confirm that component is hd?
