My husbands a welder and he says it's impossible. The high heat will just cause the aluminum to melt. Sorry! He says to drill it and bolt it. Good Luck!

    • Thanks for the answer. Is there, then, a way to attach, for example, a steel hull of a boat to an aluminum skeleton? It must be water-tight, so no bolts allowed through the hull!

    • I wonder how well something in the epoxy category would work.

    • Weld steel brackets to the hull with a flange, drilled with holes, so you can then bolt these to the aluminum frame.
