    No. Fanaticism to me is simply an obsessive, singular focus on something..relentless, unremitting, closed-minded and all-encompassing to the fanatic. It is constant, neverending, full-bore so there is no possibiiity of redoubling because the aim is never forgotten. That is my understanding of the word. Happy Saturday! :)
