Does connecting batteries both in series and in parallel work? For example using 1.5v 3600mAH batteries, if I connected 3 in series for 4.5v 3600mAH, would adding 1 battery in parallel to this connection double the amperage for 4.5v 7200mAH?

They do, but i think you just have to ask yourself, do i want a battery that is going to have a longer lifespan where i am going to have to charge it way more or do i want a battery that is going to last longer between charges and just have to get a new pair in a year? Me i would want the damn things to last longer between charges god forbid you run out in the middle of your son or daughters b-ball game or something. you'll never here the end of it.
