Was Jesus the son of God?

I believe he was a charismatic teacher who was the son of Joseph the Carpenter and Mary.....the historical facts make sense to me...I believe he was a rabbi who travelled to teach what we know as the Golden Rule...a humble and gentle man. I believe that a lot of myths grew around him from the spin doctors of the time...and the travelling news-bringers...and the folk-singers of the times....and the superstitious masses. He became a legend, bigger than life. His message was clear and good.....live in peace and do unto others that which you would have them do unto you.
God? No.

I did get downrated, of course. Whenever I speak my opinion on anything religious, someone who doesn't agree, downrates. Would you agree that this is narrowminded and petty....and indicates that someone is un-Christian in their approach to others? It is the type of behaviour which turns me OFF formal religion...."my way or the highway" type of fundamental fervour.

As a naturalist, it is difficult to voice any of your rational thoughts when the majority of the population believe 100% in the supernatural. +5 for having courage.

NICK = i have a difference of opinion...that doesn't mean I am automatically wrong. Downrating is NOT for differences of opinion. Downrating is for rudeness and inappropriatness.
And I beleive my knowledge of history is pretty good.....and jesus was very much part of history....and well as the present
