A tie is known as a "deuce". This is when the score is 40-all (or higher). In tennis, a player must win by two points. So, until a player scores two points in a row after a tie, the game continues. Each point after the deuce is called an advantage point. So, for instance, say the score is deuce, and the server scores. The score is now "advantage-in". (It would be advantage-out if the receiver scored). An advantage means that person only needs one more shot to win the game.
