Help answer this question below.
If the deficit spending were to ensure an overall improvement in GDP growth, then the inflationary prussures created by deficit finance would be absorbed by the economy easily.
It is when the purpose of deficit spending is to shore up sagging bottomlines of corporations that we pass on the economic prussures to the generations to come.
We are indulging in an unavoidable irresponsible behavior, I would say, considering the state the economy is in at the moment.
Lets hope the future generations will be smarter than us and will find ways to get out of the legacy we bestow on them.

Why aren't Liberals all for another $ 1.5 trillion deficit to stimulate our economy? At least they won't admit it.

You're reading All government programs must be paid for with revenue we raise now or taxes we impose on our children. Isn't endless deficit spending taxation without representation?

In the US, we had run up $11 trillion in debt before the economy crashed in 2007. So clearly, we weren't growing GDP rapidly enough to offset our spending. Agreed, in the recession, government must spend. But at some point, we have some hard choices to make in the USA. I don't know enough about other countries to guess how they are budgeting.

I say again "We are indulging in an unavoidable irresponsible behavior".
No way out of the trap in sight. So we keep behaving irresponsibly.

I have posted a comment under yours, Jim. Wonder how I missed 9 out of the 10 questions you had given links to. But your questions are all excellent stuff Jim. I answered all the 10 in the process of looking for any objectionable content in them as you had said in your comment.
As you are a seasoned ABer, I thought you must take a look at iwnit's question and look at the link he has given.
At times it is good for us to know how the others look at us or even make fun of us. But what is important is the sentiments expressed by all those who answered and commented under some 12 Answers. Great comeradeship expressed there.
Iwnit has posted an answer to his own question too.
