The Sandisk Sansa e200 series is a nice substitute for the ipod nano.

The Creative Zen V (or V plus for video) would also work well as a nano substitute (& it's smaller than the Sansa e200).

Read through the reviews on http://www.amazon.com & check out the forums at http://www.epizenter.net and http://www.anythingbutipod.com

Also, there's a new player coming out in summer 2007 that looks cool, called slacker - http://www.slacker.com

If you want large capacity (i.e. 30gb+) instead of a 2 to 8gb flash player, then check out the zune and zen vision:m
