In "Star Wars" why is there only one Sith lord but many Jedi?

    Actualy there is always two,A master and an apprentice,this way of doing things was introduced by darth bane,before bane had practised this,there were as many jedi as there were sith.There was once a great war and many of the sith had died but Bane was one of the few remaining,He ressurected the sith ways using this new technique and found that it was very effective.more here- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darth_Bane
