The motor probably needs changed out if the thermal overload is tripping out. Does the fan spin freely?

    • Fan turns freely .. But just went and checked. Restarted AC and the fan is running .. but in the opposite direction than it was last time without me switching the leads... twilight zone or whats happening.... Is that possible ???

    • As long as it is blowing upwards, you're ok.

    • The fan was blowing downward this afternoon but had up till now been upward... Is one phase not consistently pulled in... therefore a contactor problem ??

    • Is this a three phase setup?

    • no.. only two... thats what I don't understand .. the fan actually looked lost when first energised .. rocked back and forth lightly a couple times before deciding which way to turn.... but once started runs appearantly at full speed ... but noted mostly upward but sometime downward...
