Question

Help answer this question below.

My girlfriend is living in my house (Texas). Should I have a rental agreement with her to ensure she does not have any claim to my house if things go sour? In the spirit of fairness, I think she should also pay some rent and a portion of utilities.

It would have been simple had you done this before she moved in. Now you have to dig out of the hole and then some.
This probably happened because at the time she was moving in, you thought that bringing up the subject would stop her from moving in, and possibly jeopardizing the relationship. Now you have some pull if she has given up some of her independence, and you think she will not leave.
