I know mockingbirds imitate other birds in the wild, but can they imitate humans like a parrot?

    Yes, they can imitate any sound that they hear. They imitate cell phone rings around here all the time. I have also heard them imitating car horns, ambulance sirens, and scolding mothers. They tend to imitate louder sounds.

    • I once heard a Northern Mockingbird imitating the clang of a tennis ball against a cyclone fence. This was at Westward Look Resort near Tucson several years ago. Nailed it!
