You're reading This book, "Twilight" by Stephanie Meyer, looks vaguely interesting but is incredibly popular with teenage girls. Has anyone here read it? and if you have, will the writing style and storytelling appeal to adults, or is it a teenybopper story gone goth?

Same kind of thing happened to me - my 11 year old niece became obsessed, and I read it to kind of make sure it was all kosher. As a fan of the horror genre, I find THESE vampires to be laughable, but I did get really into it for a while. Now, the whole thing is utterly annoying, and I think if I see Robert Pattinson's oily head One. More. Time. I'm going to scream.

I couldn't believe how hideous Edward was in the movie. Oh well. To each his own. Perhaps if I was a hormonal teen, he might appeal to me.

Ah, when I was a hormonal teenager, I oogled Viggo Mortensen as Aragorn in Lord of the Rings. *purrs*

For me it was Sebastian Bach of Skid Row. I also really had a thing for Jerry O'Connell. I was a high school freshman in 1991.
