Are the major automobile manufacturer's lobbying to keep public transportation alternatives, such as metro buses and light rails systems, from developing so they can sell more cars?

    No because you will need a car anyways because the country is just too damn large to not have a car.

    However the people that are doing it is the oil companies. The oil companies have the automobile manufacturers and the government by the ball sack

    You have the right idea, but the wrong enemy. The oil companies are the ones responsible not the car companies.
