If the snoring has a pattern it isn't as annoying but an irregular pattern translates to noise. Even repetitive patterns are distracting. Some people are more sensitive to sound and noise and the slightest sound when it continues for a period of time becomes unwanted noise. Snoring falls into that category. We also don't have control over someone else's snoring and that makes it even more annoying. It become repetitive unwanted noise.
