Is this for real or in the fictional Star Wars galaxy? ...lets answer both:

Fictional- Presumably if his or her Mitachlorian count was high enough it would be recognized at a young age and he or she would be approached about training. This is per Quy-gon-jin in Episode 1. Other than that a young and willing \\\"being\\\" could apply to the Jedi Council in an effort to gain Padawan status, or if a Jedi Master chooses someone as his or her apprentice.

In reality- I have personally dealt with this (my 5 year old has insisted). It needs to be explained that until we have the technology to build a Millenium Falcon, travel to Courasant is impossible, besides that the Jedi temple is in ruins, Yoda died, and the archives of the Jedi order may or may not have been corrupted. ...all of that and the fact that it is only pretend! But if you choose you can live your life under the ideals of the Jedi order, pay heed to the lessons learned in the story, learn martial arts, gymnastics, fencing and study theology. Then you can be as close to a Jedi as a human living on earth can be ...you could even start your own Jedi order, If you dont mind people thinking you are a nut job!

    Hope this was useful.
