What is the criteria by which a competition is deemed a sport as opposed to a game?

    There are only 3 sports.

    Hunting, shooting and fishing.

    Every thing else is a game.

    I have always taken that to mean that in a sport the aim is to kill something whereas in a game the idea is only to win.
