In Michigan, can I break my lease without any penalties due to excessive noise from the children living above me?

    Only if your landlord fails to resolve the situaton. The law entitles you to a certain amount of peaceful enjoyment of your dwelling. If the landlord fails to control noisy and disruptive tenants then you have a reasonable basis for not being penalized.
