I was in a gang once. We started a chapter of the Jets in our school. We put up signs saying "No Sharks" and walked around snapping our fingers. It was fun for a while. We weren't a serious threat, though.

Obsessed with "Grease"?
by Zandalee.Lonely.Lunatic.3yrs-here on March 26th, 2007
You. Need. To. Learn. About. American. Culture. THIS IS FROM "West Side Story"!
by EL1 2 on March 26th, 2007
The only reason I know about West Side Story is because we watched it in a music lesson once.

I hate America, I live in America.... Grease, West Side Story.... it's all the same..... it's pretty dumb!
by Zandalee.Lonely.Lunatic.3yrs-here on May 1st, 2007
West Side Story is a brilliant, brilliant play. I don't see how you could hate it unless you're just another rebellious teen who hates anything that anyone else likes.
by EL1 2 on May 2nd, 2007
lol, I'm 23.... I just really don't like it at all. I'm not a conformist. However, I don't have to be a rebellious teen to dislike something that most find "brilliant". I find it rather mundane.

I guess you're entitled to your own opinions.
by EL1 2 on May 3rd, 2007
That's pretty funny. Could've made HS a lot more tolerable. The best ideas always come to other people. :)

Wait, wait, what?? West Side Story kicks stupid Grease's @$$!!!
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 8th, 2007
Yes, yes it does.
by EL1 2 on November 8th, 2007
Sorry if I offended anyone.... I just think West Side Story was like a bad rip-off of Romeo and Juliet to me. It is only my opinion. I am sorry if I offended you and deeply sorry that I got West Side Story and Grease mixed up!
by Zandalee.Lonely.Lunatic.3yrs-here on November 8th, 2007
It was a tribute to RnJ, I feel. Much like "Apocalypse Now" is based on and is a tribute to "Heart of Darkness".
by EL1 2 on November 8th, 2007
It's okay, it's just that Grease is SO bad. Really, bad. There was no offense, at least on my part. If you choose to look at it that way, all love stories that lack a happy ending are ripoffs. I have a slightly happier outlook, and an appreciation for good show tunes.

I like RHPS and Tommy.... I can appreciate a song.... just not those two. I can't stand Grease at all, I didn't like West SIde Story, and Dirty Dancing is right up there with things I never want to hear or see again. Shakespeare was so great that anything trying to copy will fall short, inevitably. (IMHO) It's just how it is to me. lol
by Zandalee.Lonely.Lunatic.3yrs-here on November 8th, 2007
See now, I find RHPS totally repulsive and reprehensible. Some things are just private. Sex is probably one of them. Since RHPS kind of EXUDES it through the pores, it's not for me.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 8th, 2007
RHPS?
Oh god, is that that Rocky Horror thing? Ugh!
by EL1 2 on November 8th, 2007
Yes, Rocky Horror Picture Show. Unspeakable, when you go to see it live. They have some sort of weird initiation ritual for those who've never seen the show live before. Totally scarring, even for an anthropologist who should be interested.
by wander-er-er the vulcanologist on November 8th, 2007
Haha.... well. I love the Rocky Horror Picture show. I think sex should be a more free prospect.... instead of so "secret" and hush hush taboo.... I think people need to lighten up. You know what is said.... Those who are offended by RHPS are those who are insecure and/or close minded..... I don't say that, but I have heard it many times! I don't know how anyone could find it "unspeakable". Again, my opinion! RHPS is a cult classic, and I love it.
