You're reading Do Mormons believe they can become gods or goddesses? How do they believe this happens?

As a lifelong Mormon, I know exactly what I have been taught, and what I believe. You haven't a clue.

Matthew 7:21-23

What did Jesus say in Matthew 7:21-27? What did he say in Luke 6:46? What did he say in Luke 11:28? Jesus clearly taught that yes, we do need to "work" for our salvation.
It's futile to call Jesus "Lord, Lord", and not obey him.

Part 1: Good question..What did Jesus ACTUALLY say in those passages? What is the will of my Father that Jesus spoke of? Jesus said in John 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. The will of God is just that, that we believe in Christ. John 3:16 supports that where Jesus said For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. It was not stated in either case that whosoever does all that the LDS church states we must do to enter God presence gets us there but that we MUST believe in Christ.
Romans 10:9 states That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Who is it that is saved? Those who confess Jesus as Lord and believe that God raised Him up.

Part 2: Moroni 10:32-33 states that in order for God s grace to be sufficient for us we need to deny ourselves of all ungodliness. As ask you and anyone else on this board Have you denied yourself of all ungodliness because if not and if the BOM is true then God s graces is not sufficient for you.
That is NOT what Jesus taught in those passages. Our salvation by His grace is not by what we do but by what He has done. He extends that grace to us as we enter into a relationship with God by accepting Jesus as our Lord. In so doing our relationship with Him changes. Who is it that Jesus casts out? Many people do righteous works thinking they contribute to their salvation. Jesus said Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity (Matt 7:22-23)

Doesn't everyone know that Smith edited the bible because he said it was in error and full of sloppy translations. In modern religions appears God has a pipeline to whoever wants to start a new Religion. If God is one why would he start all these different Religions? Maybe he has a sense of humor. I found many starting the same way. I have my beliefs why do they need to push their beliefs on me? God help you if you say anything Religious people are said to be at peace with God? Why all the name calling.

In anceint Christianity they believed they would become gods. "God became man, so man can be God" Truly the LDS is closerto being Christian than anything else.
