Can the media be sued for misreporting information in a story about a pit bull attack?

    If they flat out lied for some reason, yes. If they were given bad info, and they reported it, then they can make a correction. They wouldn't necessarily be liable if they had no reason to doubt the credibility of the source. If they believed it to be true and reported it in good faith, the suit wouldn't go very far.
