Help answer this question below.

Do you think it would be a good idea for the president to give out stimulus checks, with the stipulation that people put it toward their mortgages? Wouldn't that help the economy? Banks and families would benefit!

And not to leave out people with no homes, they could put it toward their rent or pay off bills! The economy would be better, if the people did this with their checks, right?

President Obamas stimulus package is a joke. How will it help the economy? I suggested, If you are giving the banks money anyway. Why not pay off consumer debt with it. The banks still get the money. But the benefit to all Americans would be unlimited.

What do you think of this idea to help with the economy? Have these banks getting gov. money offer free mortgage refinancing to customers. It would save people who actually need it a lot of money each month, and wouldn't cost tax money.

Since the banks receive the bailout money anyway, why can't the government give money to the people and their bank or mortgage lender jointly? This would reduce the principal of our mortgages while giving the money to the banks or lenders anyway, right?

The Senate compromised (or so they say on TV) on the stimulus package. Can anyone tell me how that helps the little people like us & not the CEOs or banks? My acct said that there will be no stimulus checks like last year. So how does this help us?
