You're reading If you break one of God's 10 commandments, are you doomed to hell?

you are correct. God is not a celestial schoolmaster, waiting with a big stick to catch you up on one slip of the tongue...he is just and loving...while he cannot let sin (general) into heaven, he himself provided the way to be forgiven and purified, by the death of Jesus and his resurrection.

If he created everything, why would he even need to create jesus to do all those things for us? A truly omnipotent being would have been able to create things right from the start.

it has to do with wanting love, not demanding it.

Why would someone with the power to create the universe need an ego boost from a bunch of humans? A god with self-esteem problems???
When you really examine religion, you see a reflection of MAN all over the place. (AKA religion was created by men alone)

God doesn't have self-esteem problems any more than humans do when they want to be loved. It is about relationships.
