With the world the way it is today, would you encourage or discourage your son or daughter from joining the military?

    I would encourage them to do whichever they feel is right.
    I would however, tell them that the only reason they should fight in a war is if it is for a cause that they truly believe in, not because it is againt's an enemy they have been conditioned to hate.

    Do not fight for the sake of destruction, fight for the sake of creation.

    • I'm not much of a fighter when I don't have a reason to be, but if I have a cause that I'm passionate about, I'll willingly fight to the death to defend it.
      It's all a matter of what the indivdual believes is right, and my own morals may not be shared by my children, which is something that nearly everyone has to accept at some point.

    • Well said. I definitely agree. We all have that thing we are willing to die for. If my children decide that the Military is what they need to do to be happy with who they are, I can support them. Do I necessarily agree? No. Will I love and support them? You bet your ass I will.
