Despite the cost of living, why does it remain so popular?

    Because deep inside human nature beats the primal heart of a gambler.

    They stick around, they pay the price, all on the hope that they'll make it big some day.
    Humans, and every other living thing, have a certain measure of lunacy, of pure survivial instinct that keeps them going.
    And no matter how much a person may want to quit playing the game, that instinctual, wild, pure, ingrained sureness that their effort *Will* pay off keeps them around for yet another losing round.

    Sometimes it does pay off, sometimes it doesn't, but they just keep on playing.
