You can also check Craigs list or even freecycle. Timing is key with those sites, but occasionally people will offload old or unwanted bits of technology.

So what am I looking for..I never had a telescope before:) But instead of reading my kids bedtimes stories I would rather have them look through a telescope:) Is there something that I need to know:)?

Ah, I wish I could help you. The closest I have come to a home telescope is one that we bought from Big Lots for my son when he was 7 years old. It was a nice toy, but not a real sky scanner. I just know that a friend of mine picked one up off of Craigslist about a year ago. It was a nice one from a university originally, but it had been passed down several times by the time he acquired it. He paid to have it cleaned and resealed and now it is his favorite obsession. I hope that someone on here can help guide you in the right direction.
