Are people who buy guns to protect themselves from the government the reason everyone else should own one to protect themselves from them?

7 shot dead on a California college campus. Not the gun's fault. More guns on campus wouldda been best or no guns at all? Why?

You're reading What is the difference between a machine gun and a mini gun?
Comments
Wrong to everything U said. All "guns" are machines of some sort if there is a "Mechanism" to it. A-10 "Wart Hogs" use the same configuration "Gatling Machine Gun/Rotary Canon" as either the ".22 cal Mini gun" or ".308 cal Mini Gun", so "Size" is Not a Qualifier really to the term "Mini Gun". And as far as speed of "Fire" called "Cyclic Rate", Mini Guns are Tops!!! Now don't get Ur Knickers in a Knot! I cannot classify "Electronic Discharge Weapons" as "Machine Guns" as other than the "Mount" there is no "Machine" to it. John

Wow Moosmouse, you know so much don't you? Not only does a Dillon Minigun have (moving) machine parts to it, it is NOT electronically discharged as you assert. Each of it's six barrels has it's own reciprocating bolt. The electric motor drives the entire MECHANISM, but the 7.62 NATO cartridges are fired the same way as all others, by striking the primer with a firing pin. It just does it so fast that it overwhelms your ability to comprehend it .
And your definition of a machine gun is shared by nobody other than yourself.
