    Which media?.... not "mine"
We often listen to, watch and read what we want to hear. That which rocks us or disturbs our comfort zone is threatening to many and they simple take their viewer dollars elsewhere.
I am not in the US, however see lots of its programing. The American tilt on the news is indicative of many things, not the least of which is its tendency to be self-absorbed.... (e.g. with entertainment trivia taking presidence over world shaking events). To a degree this is the fault of the people who watch this stuff, but it is also a reflection of larger issues like education and gov't policy, which do not foster an awareness that what happens in places like India or China will, one way or another have significant impact at home.
