    Tax preparation services such as H&R Block and Jackson-Hewitt do not charge more for last minute tax work. Individuals, specialty accountants or independent owner/operators and the like may or may not charge more. Charges generally vary depending on the difficulty of the work and the time in preparing the work, how many forms you need filled out, how much information you can already answer, etc. If you walk in with the proverbial shoe box full of receipts and nothing else of use, you may be charged more for the excess work.
