Not any more. We've been married 21 years and I like it alot now. THe first 10 years were hard for me though. I had to grow up some and adapt and he did too. But we managed to do that and stay together. I like having a friend that I can sit with and drink coffee with and be with him. And now there is this shared history part of it that I feel real comfortable and secure with. All in all I'd say now it is a comfort in life to know he is there and will be.
Irritations and faults come with every thing in life; single life is not all it's cracked up to be either.
I was 32 when I got married and I cannot imagine having been married in my 20's. It would never have lasted as I was too immature and self centered and all I thought about was me and what I deserved and wanted. Life and happiness is not all about me and me alone....that's how I see it and I'm a happily married person now.

    • That is good to hear... I am envious. The problem in my marriage is that I grew and greww up HE NEVER --- if I suggest something that is fun and new or doing something that I enjoy it is shoot down without thought!
I have adapted to his quirks as much as possible... I will not ever, ever, ever... adapt to the oversocial drinking, the not taking care of himself (high cholestoral, smoking, big pot belly, not getting a check up) or the unsafe behaviour! the way I see it and as morbid as it sounds I could very well end up being a widower before I become divorced!!! Sounds sad but he doesn't care so why should I anymore... he says 'IT'LL BE FINE' (standard response to everything... or 'whatever' -so predicatble) 16 years of this and I am done! he thinks his drinking is fine... doesn't think it is an issue and that my concerns are silly despite the fact that whenever he over drinks we argue and I grew up with an alcoholic father.
